There I was – back in Africa for my fourth hunt; this time to Mozambique in pursuit of the leopard, also known as “CHUI”.......

… after my shot, the group of 60+ head to line up abreast facing us and marching towards us with blood in their eye.  That adrenalin rush was awesome!  Through that all, my PH Marius was cool, calm and collected.......

Friends ask me what hunting Mozambique was like and I have a short answer, "Best damn two weeks of my adult life". I used several years worth of adrenaline in 14 very short days.........

What can I say – this is the real deal!  This hunt was why we go to Africa. No fences, no roads, no towns, far away from cities with only natives sparsely spread across an incredible landscape......

There is something about elephants waking you up at 2 am trumpeting just behind camp that stirs the soul!  Right now I think I am the most depressed person in Africa as this adventure ends but reality beckons......

Our search was quickly rewarded with a huge set of very fresh tracks and warm dung of

several dozen buffalo that we tracked into the swamp bottoms, with tall papyrus and sparsely spaced, barren trees.......
